the north cape

yes i know it took me a long time to bring more up dates. i guess i am on holidays ;-)

the north cape

(norwegian: nordkapp; north sami: davvenjárga) is a cape on the island of magerøya in northern norway, in the municipality of nordkapp. its 307 metres (1,007 ft) high, steep cliff is often referred to as the northernmost point of europe, located at

on the left it is the hotel and the tourist information. the building has an underground museum and a beautiful chapel

me on north cape globe, took me quiet a long time to get a shot without any bloody tourists ;-)
during the day it was just mad. one bus after another was arriving, you could not really enjoy the point during the day. that changed exactly after 3.00 pm, after that i was alone and that was just awesome to be on a place like that by yourself . in the day time i took my hikes over the island and build a few memorials which you can see on the donation site. still haven't get the request to dace naked on the beach. whats wrong with you ;-)

sometimes it took me quiet a long time to make just a couple of 100 meters because i was never sure how fare these canvases will strike in to the land.

fare in the back round i think you can see cape nordkinn witch is actually the most northern point on the main land.
my first beer beer i bought in Norwegian. i can tell you it tasted awesome, but there is another thing i can tell, there will be not much beers in my stay in Norwegian, it costed round a bout 13 euros this good looking thing ;-)

heheheheheh that's what i wanted always to do. reaching over the north cape

even when it is a touri nap they have done and doing a few amazing things up there.
It was Simon Flem Devold, a well-known Norwegian writer and friend of children, who in 1987 suggested that North Cape, the well known geographic and historic point of intersection between East and West, be used for something of positive, symbolic value far beyond the borders of Norway .

Why not, he thought, bring children of different nations and cultures together at North Cape and let them create a lasting expression of youthful cooperation and joy – uninhibited by any national, racial, religious or political boundaries!

In June 1988, seven boys and girls from as many countries on several continents converged on the cliff to create reliefs of clay with motives reflecting their creativity and emotions. The youngsters who in this manner demonstrated the congenital desire of children everywhere to have a good time and be friendly toward each other, were Jasmine from Dar-es-Salaam in Tanzania, Rafael from Rio de Janeiro in Brazil, Ayumi from Kawasaki in Japan, Sithidej from Bangkok in Thailand, Gloria from Jesi in Italy, Anton from Murmansk in the (former) Soviet Union and Louise from New York City, USA. From the very beginning, they were called The Children of the Earth.

dinner under the globe

the next few pictures shows you the northern globe memorial from 5 pm to midnight. i could not stop watching it and took millions of pictures

this one was exactly at 12.00 midnight and just 7% of the visitors will ever see this few. guess i am a lucky one ;-)

keep it up and happy days to everyone
